2020’s been a long old year, and we all feel a bit tired and jaded in this, what feels like the 274th day of March. So I’ll confess that the thought of a month of evenings staying up until midnight to post Chemistry Advent instalment didn’t fill me with wild enthusiasm. Having run a Chemistry Advent for the past 6 years, this year I’ve decided to take a break of sorts.

I say ‘of sorts’ because I didn’t want to abandon it completely for this year. So instead, I’ve done a quick update of a previous year’s calendar. I’ve taken the Christmas Chemistry themed calendar and slightly spruced up the designs, as well as removing the year from the graphics so they can be used again and again. I’ve also made them all available to download from the start so that you can print them off and create your own physical advent calendar at home using them.

If you’d rather have a digital calendar to open every day, you’ve got the following chemistry-themed calendars from previous years to choose from:

Christmas Chemistry Advent

Chemistry History Advent

Periodic Table Advent

I hope you all get the chance to have a well-deserved break at some point over the coming month or so, whether you celebrate Christmas or not.
