The Christmas holidays are approaching, and with eerily good timing, “Why Does Asparagus Make Your Wee Smell?” is now out in paperback in the UK! And even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, it still makes a for a pretty good impromptu present for any food-obsessed family members, or even just for yourself. It’s got something for everyone; whether you want to know why some people hate Brussels sprouts, how to stop avocados turning brown, or if carrots can really help you see in the dark, you can grab a copy here.
The Compound Interest book, “Why Does Asparagus Make Your Wee Smell?”, was released in the UK back in October 2015, but there’s good news for US followers of the site: it’s now available across the pond too!
If you didn’t already know, the first Compound Interest book is now available! “Why Does Asparagus Make Your Wee Smell?” features 58 different graphics and explanations on the chemistry of food and drink. Though a few have been featured on the site previously, all of the graphics have been redesigned for the book, and a large number of them haven’t been featured on the site at all!
It’s been a while since the last news on the book, but it’s still very much on its way – and here’s the cover to prove it! It’s out in the UK on October 8, 2015, and it’s already available to preorder on Amazon here. A little more information follows if this is the first you’ve heard about it!
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the site’s Twitter feed, you’ll have heard that I’ve been lucky enough to secure a book deal with Orion Publishing. The book will be based on the food chemistry graphics on the site, which I’ll be reworking, along with a lot more new entries. Whilst it’s a project that’s going to consume the majority of my summer holidays, it’s one I’m really excited about; for anyone who’s interested, here’s a little more information on it.
